Ceramides are naturally occurring lipids in the skin that form a water-resistant barrier on the surface of the skin to better protect it and make it moisturized and supple. Among them, ceramide 3 of biofermented origin is a new generation of skin moisturizers developed in recent years, which maintains the skin's water retention level, repairs dry and damaged skin, and also promotes the renewal of the skin's natural protective layer. It is now widely used as an effective skin care active ingredient in skin care cosmetics.

An important prerequisite for the realization of skin care efficacy is that the active ingredient can effectively penetrate the skin surface, and in the skin tissue, high concentration of enrichment and long time retention, that is, to achieve the target delivery of skin care active ingredients. Currently, most commercially available ceramide cosmetic dosage forms are ordinary creams with poor skin permeability and low retention of active ingredients. At the same time, ceramide 3 is a highly crystalline substance, poorly dispersed in water and most oil esters, with extremely low solubility, and prone to crystallization and precipitation during placement, which is not conducive to the absorption of the active ingredient and the stability of the product.

NK-L1003 is a phospholipid liposome made of vitamin E and cholesterol, which is easy to be absorbed by the skin. Using phospholipid liposome as a carrier, ceramide 3, which is difficult to be dissolved in oil ester and water, is encapsulated in the liposome, and then the phospholipids containing ceramide are made into a liposomal emulsion by a special process.

This product stabilizes vitamin E (a powerful antioxidant), cholesterol, and ceramide (22.0% of the three components).

The encapsulated ceramide VE liposome is stable enough to be used directly in a variety of dosage forms. The nano-sized phospholipid liposomes are also used as a carrier for the ceramides to penetrate and be absorbed more easily into the epidermis of the skin.
