Mechanism of action:
The source of melanin formation in human cells is mainly ultraviolet radiation, which produces various chemical reactions within the skin to generate melanin. Ninapeptide-1 is a whitening active small molecule peptide containing nine amino acids that inhibits melanin formation and reduces hyperpigmentation, and its key target is the MC1R gene outside of the pigmentation cells. The key target of its action is the MC1R gene outside the pigmentation mother cells. Firstly, when the human stratum corneum cells receive UV rays, they release a large amount of α-MSH, which then enters into the deeper layers of the skin and binds to the MC1R receptor on the pigmentation mother cells. Once the two bind, they directly activate a series of reactions within the melanocyte to rapidly produce melanin. Ninhydrin-1 prevents α-MSH from binding to the MC1R receptor and competitively antagonizes the MC1R receptor. When α-MSH reaches the extracellular binding site of the pigmented cells, it will be found that the site has already been occupied by natriuretic peptide-1, so as to reduce the binding of α-MSH to MC1R, and inhibit the production of melanin. Therefore, the whitening method of NNinapeptide-1 is to effectively inhibit the production of melanin from the source so that the skin can be whitened from the bottom to the translucent.
