Elastin: The Key to Youthful Skin
Structure and Function of Elastin
The peptide chain of elastin contains more than 713 amino acid residues, of which nonpolar amino acids account for 95%, glycine accounts for nearly 1/3 of the total, proline accounts for 10%, and hydroxyproline accounts for 1%. The intermolecular cross-linking of elastin is more complex than that of collagen, forming a highly elastic network structure through cross-linking involving lysine residues. Elastin is tightly connected to collagen fibers in the skin, intertwining with them to give the skin excellent flexibility.
Recombinant Humanized Elastin
Promotes the assembly and synthesis of elastic fibers, resulting in firmness and increased elasticity
Firmness and Increased Elasticity
Elastin: Assembles into elastic fibers, forming the source of skin elasticity together with collagen fibers
Elastin (ELP, Elastin Protein) assembles to form elastic fibers, which are an important component of human connective tissue, giving elasticity and firmness to tissues and organs such as skin, blood vessels, and lungs.
In normal skin structure, elastin and collagen work synergistically as key functional proteins providing elasticity to skin tissue. Therefore, they both play a crucial role in skincare products that emphasize firming and elasticity.
Why do we need to supplement elastin? Just as an umbrella cannot function without a frame, and a house cannot be built without steel reinforcement, elastin plays a vital role in the human body. Here are some key functions of elastin supplementation:
Activating dermal fibroblasts: Elastin stimulates dermal fibroblasts, promoting their activity and contributing to healthy skin.
Improving skin elasticity and softness, reducing wrinkles: Elastin increases skin elasticity and softness, reducing wrinkle formation and making skin look younger.
Promoting ligament cell proliferation and increasing joint stability: Elastin helps ligament cells proliferate, thereby increasing joint stability and reducing the occurrence of joint problems.
Strengthening and restoring motor function, inhibiting ligament ossification: Elastin strengthens and restores motor function, inhibits ligament ossification, and prevents sports injuries.
Enhancing blood vessel elasticity and slowing vascular aging: Elastin can enhance blood vessel elasticity, slow vascular aging, and prevent cardiovascular disease.
>>In summary:
Elastin is an essential protein in the human body, maintaining skin elasticity and suppleness, and supporting the shape and function of other organs and tissues.
Elastin and collagen coexist, much like a mattress: collagen is the sponge, and elastin is the spring supporting the sponge, keeping the mattress elastic.
